Bir Billing
Oct — NovOne of the highest takeoffs in the world, and a landing field the whole village watches. Tandem on day one, your own wing if you keep coming back.
India-first · Himalayan Corridor · 2026
Not an OTA. A community that actually goes — led by Captains who live these valleys, filled with people you would have travelled with anyway.
Scroll — seven stages, one road
01 — Live
Somebody in the group knows the chai stall past the third switchback. On a TruTravel trip, that somebody is leading it.
Small by design. Every trip is led by someone who lives the route, not a guide flown in for the season.
Your group chat opens the moment you book. You arrive knowing names, not strangers.
Homestays, drivers, cooks — paid directly, listed openly. The money stays in the valley.
02 — Rush
The quiet second after you commit, not the adrenaline before it. Altitude you earned, with somebody beside you who has read this weather a hundred times.
One of the highest takeoffs in the world, and a landing field the whole village watches. Tandem on day one, your own wing if you keep coming back.
Powder above Manali, then the pass when it opens. Captains who read the snow before anyone sells you a ticket to it.
Four thousand metres, no network, a lake that turns the colour of the sky twice a day. Acclimatise properly or do not go.
03 — Breathe
Kerala in the off-season. Breathwork on a houseboat deck at six in the morning, backwaters so still the sky doubles. Same community, opposite tempo — because nobody can run at altitude forever.
Led by teachers from Varkala and Kovalam, on the water.
Optional. Nearly everyone does it by day two.
Caught, cooked and eaten within about forty metres.
04 — Explore
Our Captains submit the nooks they would take their own friends to. We verify them, we pay the village, and we keep the list deliberately short.
Kept by
Tenzin · Captain since 2024
Nook #1 of 4 currently open to the waitlist.
05 — Yaatra
A yaatra is a trip somebody in the community decided to run. TruTravel handles the money, the trust and the paperwork; the Captain handles the road.
A Captain proposes a yaatra — the valley, the dates, the beds, the number of people it actually works for. Costs are itemised in the open from the first draft.
Any verified Captain
Travellers express interest and the group chat opens before a single rupee moves. You see who is coming and you can walk away.
Minimum six, maximum fourteen
Hit the floor and the trip confirms, operators get paid their share up front. Miss it and nobody is charged. No phantom departures.
All-or-nothing booking
The Captain runs it on the ground. Afterwards the route, the notes and the photographs stay with the community — the next group starts further along than you did.
Route notes stay public
06 — Join
Waitlist first, always. We would rather run twelve trips properly than four hundred badly.
